Busted: Troops Nab Ammunition Courier Supplying Terror Kingpin in Zamfara

Troops of the 1 Brigade, Sector 2 of Operation Fansan Yamma, have arrested a 25-year-old suspected ammunition courier, Shamsiyya Ahadu, with 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines intended for the camp of notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji.

Acting on intelligence, the arrest occurred on Friday in Badarawa, Shinkafi Local Government Area, Zamfara State. Shamsiyya was apprehended alongside an accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, a motorcycle rider, at a roadblock set up by the troops.

A statement signed by Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi of the Joint Media Coordinating Centre emphasized the ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent the illegal flow of arms within the operation’s jurisdiction.

The suspects are currently under investigation, and the public has been urged to provide credible information to support the military’s mission. Operation Fansan Yamma extended its appreciation for the continued local support in achieving its mandate.
