The ancient town of Emure-Ile in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State was agog on Friday, September 12, 2025, as Prince Bankole Adeyefa, son of the late Oba Siemon Adedubaje Adeyefa, was installed as the new Elemure of Emure-Ile.
The colourful ceremony, held in line with the town’s traditions, began with early morning rites conducted by the community priest and climaxed in the evening with the formal crowning of the new monarch.
In his first address, Oba Bankole Adeyefa thanked God, the kingmakers, chiefs, youths, and indigenes of the community for their support, pledging that his reign would be guided by wisdom, justice, and progressive policies to foster unity and development.
The event attracted dignitaries from across the state, including the Chairman of Owo North West LCDA, Hon. Alaba Ajipe; Vice Chairman of Owo Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Ahmmed; and members of Owo High Hope Club, among others.
The installation marks a new chapter in the history of Emure-Ile Kingdom.
