There was jubilation in Owo, Ondo State, on Saturday following the safe release of Pastor Ayodeji Akesinro, a staff of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) and minister with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, who was abducted two days ago.
Akesinro was kidnapped on Thursday evening at his residence in Upenme, Owo Local Government Area, sparking tension and prayers across the community.
News of his release brought relief to colleagues, church members, and residents who had been anxiously awaiting positive updates.
Confirming the development, a labour leader said although details of his rescue remain sketchy, the community is thankful for his safe return.
> “We are glad to announce the safe release of our colleague, Pastor (MLS) Akesinro Ayodeji, who was abducted in Owo. We give glory to God Almighty and sincerely appreciate the security agencies, government authorities, colleagues, friends, and well-wishers whose prayers, efforts, and support made this possible,” he said.
The news of Akesinro’s freedom has been greeted with joy and thanksgiving across Owo, with many describing it as an answered prayer for
the community.
