Residents of Olokun and Similoluwa in Agbaluku Arigidi Akoko have called on the Ondo State Government to expedite the mobilization of contractors to begin work on rural road projects announced by Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa earlier this month.
In separate interviews with Radio Nigeria Positive FM’s community correspondent, Ibrahim Kilani, Mr. Oladuni Awolumate of Similoluwa and Chief Tayo Origbemisoye of Olokun expressed gratitude for the inclusion of the Olokun-to-Ugbe House Akoko road project in the governor’s plan.
They emphasized that completing the road would significantly enhance the socio-economic activities of Akoko North West and Akoko North East local governments.
Meanwhile, in Sosan, a community in Akoko South East Local Government, residents have called for the provision of modern amenities to curb youth migration to urban centers.
Mr. Gbenga Bernard and Pastor Apejoye Olatunji commended the federal government’s ongoing rehabilitation of the Orita Ipele–Idoani–Ifira–Sosan–Isua–Ayere road linking Kogi State. They noted that the project would not only improve transportation but also reduce criminal activities along the formerly deplorable route.
The duo urged residents to harness the town’s agricultural potential and engage in farming to increase food production and sustain economic growth.
With the dry season offering optimal conditions for road construction, the affected communities are hopeful for swift action to bring the proposed projects to fruition.
