Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening grassroots governance as he participated in the local government election on Saturday. The Governor described the election as a vital step towards fostering development at the local level.

Governor Aiyedatiwa cast his vote at Polling Unit 5, Ugbo Ward 4, in Ilaje Local Government Area, and lauded the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) for its seamless handling of the election.
While addressing journalists after voting, the Governor highlighted the importance of local government autonomy, noting that it plays a pivotal role in accelerating grassroots development.
“An efficient and autonomous local government system is key to delivering impactful governance and meeting the needs of our people directly,” Aiyedatiwa stated.
He expressed gratitude to the citizens of Ondo State for their active participation in the election process, emphasizing that their engagement is critical to the sustenance of democracy.
Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, commended the smooth conduct of the election, underscoring it as a testament to the state government’s dedication to credible electoral processes.
The local government election marked another milestone in Ondo State’s efforts to deepen democracy and ensure inclusive development across its communities.
