The Nigerian Army has arrested a suspected oil facility vandal in Bayelsa State.
The operation was carried out on 7 September 2025 by troops of 5 Battalion in collaboration with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Abili Security Services at Okordia in Yenagoa Local Government Area. The suspect has been handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) for investigation.
In Borno State, troops of 149 Battalion on a logistics strangulation mission in Gubio town apprehended eight suspected ISWAP/JAS logistics suppliers. Items recovered included 28 jerrycans and one drum of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), ₦145,510 in cash, and five mobile phones.
In a separate operation, troops of 17 Brigade at Forward Operating Base Malumfashi, working with the police and local vigilantes, responded to a distress call at Gidan Kwairo village in Katsina State. Five kidnapped victims were rescued, while one civilian was killed and another injured. The injured victim was taken to Malumfashi General Hospital.
The Army said it has intensified patrols in the affected areas.
