Excitement is sweeping through Emure-Uli in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State following the emergence of its new traditional ruler, the Elemure-Elect, whose reign is already being heralded as one that will bring peace, inclusiveness, and prosperity.
For members of the prestigious Owo High Hope Club, the news of the new Kabiyesi carries a personal touch. Shortly after the passing of the father of the Elemure-Elect, the club, led by its President, Elder Kayode Agbo-Ola, had paid a condolence visit to the family—a visit that unexpectedly became the club’s first encounter with a future monarch.
Recalling the moment, Chief Kasali D. Obanoyen, the Aboba of Ijebu-Owo, described how the mission unfolded.
> “Our delegation, led by Group Captain Daramola, included our eagle-eyed PRO, K. Lawal, Hon. Adeola, and other distinguished members. When we arrived at Emure-Uli, the Elemure-Elect received us with uncommon grace, character, and royal distinction. He spoke on behalf of the family with the poise of someone already wearing the crown,” Chief Obanoyen said.
He noted that despite being younger than many royals present at the gathering, the Elemure-Elect stood out with his calm authority and natural charisma.
In his first public words, the new monarch reportedly preached peace and inclusiveness—a message that has since resonated widely across the kingdom.
> “It was powerful. Kabiyesi’s first statement set the tone for a reign that will unite rather than divide. It showed vision, it showed responsibility, and it gave hope,” Chief Obanoyen added.
The club, which prides itself on its long history of ties with royalty in Owo and beyond, expressed optimism that the new monarch would continue the legacy of his late predecessor, remembered for his intellectual depth and interest in global affairs.
Quoting Winston Churchill’s famous line—“The price of greatness is responsibility”—Chief Obanoyen stressed that the Elemure-Elect was already embodying the weight of duty and accountability that comes with the throne.
Looking ahead, members of the community are eagerly awaiting the coronation, with some already joking about the prospect of hosting future club gatherings in Emure-Uli, complete with fresh palm wine and bush meat to match.
> “Kabiyesi’s overwhelming acceptance is a sound indicator of what is to come. He is a chip off the old block, and his reign will etch his name in gold,” the Aboba of Ijebu-Owo declared confidently.
From Emure-Uli, the bottom line is clear: a new chapter has begun. With their Elemure-Elect already commanding admiration and loyalty, the people are prepared to dance, celebrate, and rally around their new monarch.
