SA (Media) to the Olowo
The Olowo of Owo and Paramount Ruler of Owo Land, His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, on Saturday, 22nd February 2025, led traditional rulers, chiefs, and community leaders to a special prayer session at the Central Mosque in Owo.
The prayer session, organized by the Muslim Community, was led by the Grand Chief Imam of Owo Kingdom, Alhaji Sheik Ahmed Aladesawe. The event was aimed at seeking divine intervention to cleanse the land of negative acts and bloodshed following recent disturbances that nearly destabilized the ancient town.

Addressing the gathering, the Olowo emphasized the need for unity and spiritual fortification against disorderliness. He urged the people of Owo to embrace peace and work towards sustaining harmony in the kingdom.
The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Owolabi Adelami, was represented at the session by his Special Assistant on Political Matters, Mr. Ademola Taofeek Adewale. The deputy governor commended the initiative, noting that prayers remain a vital tool in fostering peace and development.

Among other dignitaries present was the Aare Atunluse of Owo Kingdom, Chief (Dr) Rotimi Ibidapo, OON, who described the event as timely and crucial in addressing the security and communal challenges in the town.
Traditional rulers in attendance included the Olupenmen of Upenmen, Oba Ebenezer Ogumolasuyi, the Asuada of Isuada, Oba Oluwafemi Adeluwoye, and the Olose of Ose, Oba Adegboyega Asolo. They collectively reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring peace and stability in Owo and its environs.
Scores of Owo chiefs, led by the Ojumu of Owo, High Chief Olanrewaju Famakinwa, also participated in the prayers. The chiefs pledged to continue working closely with religious leaders and the community to foster a peaceful environment.
The Grand Chief Imam, Alhaji Sheik Ahmed Aladesawe, in his sermon, called for righteousness and unity among the people. He stressed that only through collective efforts and divine guidance could the kingdom overcome its challenges.
The prayer session concluded with blessings for Owo and its leadership, as attendees expressed optimism that the spiritual exercise would yield positive results in restoring peace
to the community.
